With more than 25 years of experience as a mutual fund representative and a financial security advisor, Brigitte will continue to serve her clients and will also bring tremendous contribution to the team with her diversified expertise. As with the firm’s other representatives, Brigitte will be affiliated with SFL Investments for her mutual fund functions.

In order to keep meeting the evolving needs of its clients, Imbeault & Caron has been thinking for some time about discretionary portfolio management into its service offering. Olivier Marquis and Jean-Pierre Cadorette joining the firm in early 2020 was along the lines of this project, as both investment professionals have extensive experience as portfolio managers. Following a registration application submitted to l’Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), Imbeault & Caron Inc. is proud to announce that it has obtained its license as a portfolio manager, effective October 8, 2020. At the same time, the firm is introducing a new brand image, IMBEAULT Capital, reflecting an improved and even more diversified service offering for the benefit of its existing and prospect clients.

It should be noted that the firm is also proud to keep leveraging and nurturing its strong relationship with SFL Investments, with representatives Sylvain Imbeault, Simon Imbeault and Thierry Drouin-Paquette pursuing their affiliation to this brand.

Biographies

Olivier Marquis brings over 15 years of experience in the field of institutional and retail investment. Prior to joining our firm, Olivier was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at 1832 Asset Management, Scotiabank’s investment manager. He worked in a group responsible for portfolios totaling nearly $ 6 billion invested in various credit-related asset categories. Previously, in 2006, he joined the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan as an assistant portfolio manager and analyst. He also worked as a hedge fund and investment analyst specializing in the public and private sectors, for a Quebec research firm. Olivier holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, a bachelor’s degree in business administration (finance) and a master’s degree in management from HEC Montréal.

Jean-Pierre Cadorette also brings over 15 years of financial markets experience, mainly at an institutional level. Before joining our firm, Jean-Pierre held the position of Vice President and Portfolio Manager at RBC Global Asset Management – PH&N Institutional, Royal Bank’s investment manager. His main responsibilities included the management of institutional investor portfolios and the growth of the Canadian institutional sector. Previously, he worked for four years as Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Scotia Institutional Asset Management, where he led a team responsible for institutional portfolio management and customer service. He was also Vice President – Institutional Sales, Fixed Income at TD Securities for over 6 years. He began his career in research and financial analysis roles at various institutions, including a large Canadian public pension plan. Also holding the CFA designation, Jean-Pierre has a bachelor’s degree in business administration (finance) from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières as well as a master’s degree in management from HEC Montréal.
